This expedition takes you from the bustling energy of the capital to the ancient Red Sea ports and the intellectual heart of the northwest.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & the Spirit of Hargeisa
Welcome: Upon arrival at Egal International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an introductory exploration of the city’s vibrant central markets.
City Highlights: A highlight of Hargeisa is its famous Livestock Market, where you can witness the bustling trade of camels, goats, and sheep in an atmosphere that remains a cornerstone of local life.

Day 2: Hargeisa’s Landmarks & Culture
National Heritage: Enjoy a full-day tour of Hargeisa’s most iconic landmarks. Visit the Civil War Memorial, the National Museum of Somaliland, the Hargeisa Cultural Centre, and the local camel market. This day offers a deeper look into the resilience, heritage, and artistic spirit of the nation.
Accommodation: Overnight at Damal Hotel (or similar), Hargeisa.
Day 3: Hargeisa – Laas Geel – Berbera
Neolithic Art: After breakfast, depart for Laas Geel, a remarkable complex of caves featuring some of the most impressive Neolithic rock art in Africa. The 10,000-year-old paintings depict ancient pastoralists and wildlife in vivid detail.
Coastal History: Continue to Berbera. Visit historic Ottoman mosques and enjoy lunch in a traditional setting. Later, take a boat trip across the Gulf of Aden to search for shipwrecks and enjoy a sunset swim at an untouched beach.
Please note: In respect of local customs, ladies are kindly requested to remain covered while swimming.

Day 4: Berbera – Sheikh – Hargeisa
Mountain Scenery: Drive to the mountain town of Sheikh, known for its refreshing climate and scenic landscapes. Visit the ruins of Ferdusa, a 16th-century settlement known for ancient tombs dating back to the 13th century.
Return Journey: Return to Hargeisa, stopping along the way for photographs of the stunning mountain vistas.
Accommodation: Overnight at Gulf Star Hotel (or Maansoor Hotel), Hargeisa.
Day 5: Hargeisa – Dhagah Kure – Borama
Dhagah Kure: Explore Dhagah Kure, an essential archaeological site featuring prehistoric rock paintings. Marvel at the intricate details that have been remarkably preserved over thousands of years.
To the Northwest: Continue to Borama, a vibrant city in northwestern Somaliland known for its lively street life and bustling markets.
Accommodation: Overnight at Rays Hotel (or similar), Borama.
Day 6: Borama – Geedeeble – Hargeisa
Intellectual Hub: Tour Borama and visit historic Amoud University, the first post-war institution of higher learning in Somaliland.
Geedeeble: Visit Geedeeble, home to the Cheetah Conservation area, dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of rescued cheetahs. On the return journey to Hargeisa, stop at the nomadic settlement of Jufo to experience traditional pastoral life and local handicrafts.

Day 7: Departure
Farewell: Your one-week expedition concludes today. Depending on your flight schedule, a private transfer will be arranged to the airport for your departure.
