Day 1: Arrival in Hargeisa and City Tour
Arrive in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the city’s highlights, including:

The War Memorial, featuring the iconic crashed MiG fighter jet — a symbol of Somaliland’s independence struggle

The Gold Market and Camel Market, two vibrant trading hubs that showcase the city’s dynamic local culture
Overnight: Damal Hotel, Hargeisa or similar
Day 2: Hargeisa – Dhagah-Kure – Borama
After breakfast, drive eastward towards Arabsiyo, a picturesque valley town known for its fertile farmlands and vibrant local farming communities. Continue to Gabiley, renowned as the breadbasket of Somaliland.
Visit the Dhagah-Khoure Rock Art Site, home to ancient engravings believed to be thousands of years old.
Proceed to Borama, a scenic town surrounded by green hills and known for its warm hospitality.

Day 3: Borama – Jufo – Hargeisa
After breakfast, explore Borama, home to Amoud University, the first higher education institution established in post-war Somaliland.
Enjoy a short tour of the university and town.
On the return to Hargeisa, stop at Jufo, a traditional nomadic settlement offering insight into the pastoral lifestyle of Somali communities.

Day 4: Hargeisa – Laas Geel – Berbera
After breakfast, visit Laas Geel, Africa’s most important prehistoric rock art site. The colorful, remarkably preserved cave paintings — over 5,000 years old — depict animals, humans, and sacred rituals.
Continue to Berbera, a historic port city on the Gulf of Aden known for its Ottoman and British colonial architecture.
Overnight: Maansoor Berbera Beach Hotel or similar
Day 5: Berbera – Sheikh – Burao
After breakfast, take a city tour of Berbera, including the Old Quarter, historic mosques, and colonial-era architecture. Relax at the beach or enjoy fresh seafood before heading inland.
Travel through the scenic Sheikh Mountains, stopping in Sheikh to visit the ruins of Ferdusa, a 16th-century historical site.
Continue to Burao, the commercial hub of central Somaliland.

Day 6: Burao – Maduna – Erigavo
After breakfast, head toward Erigavo, stopping en route at Maduna, near Eel Afweyn.
This medieval Islamic site features ancient stone houses, some with intact roofs. The mountainous village offers a stunning landscape. (Note: caution advised due to occasional snake sightings.)
Arrive in Erigavo, the capital of the remote Sanaag region, in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Erigavo – Daallo Mountains – Burao
After breakfast, visit the spectacular Daallo (Golis) Mountains, rising over 1,200 meters and covered in lush greenery. Known as the “Green Paradise” of Somaliland, the area is rich in biodiversity and rare flora and fauna.
Return briefly to Erigavo before a long drive back to Burao.

Day 8: Burao – Ga’an Libah – Hargeisa
Depart for Hargeisa, stopping at Ga’an Libah, a limestone escarpment rising to 1,720 meters.
Known as “Lion’s Paw,” this rare lush habitat is home to wildlife such as kudu, hyenas, gazelles, baboons, and a variety of birds — making it a birdwatcher’s paradise.
Continue to Hargeisa for your final night.

Day 9: Departure from Hargeisa
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure.
