Program in Detail
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – Transfer to Bale Hunting Concession
Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and assisted with all arrival formalities. Depending on your hunting schedule and personal preference, you will travel to the Bale Highlands either by a scheduled domestic flight followed by a short overland transfer or by private road.
After arriving at the hunting concession, you will check into the safari camp, complete rifle sighting and accuracy checks, participate in a comprehensive safari briefing, and have your hunting permits verified before preparing for the following day’s expedition.
Overnight at the safari camp.
Day 2: Full-Day Guided Hunting
Begin the day with an early morning departure alongside your Professional Hunter (PH) and experienced trackers. The Bale Mountains present an extraordinary landscape of montane forests, bamboo thickets, open moorlands, and high-altitude grasslands, providing ideal habitat for the elusive Mountain Nyala as well as other endemic and indigenous species including Menelik’s Bushbuck, Bohor Reedbuck, Common Duiker, Warthog, and Olive Baboon, all hunted only in accordance with government-issued permits and seasonal quotas.
Throughout the day, you will enjoy guided spot-and-stalk hunting, wildlife tracking, and opportunities to observe the remarkable biodiversity of the Bale Highlands. A picnic lunch will be served in the field before continuing the afternoon hunt. In the evening, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Hunt – Return to Addis Ababa
Enjoy one final early morning hunting session, providing a last opportunity to pursue your Mountain Nyala or complete your licensed hunting objectives. The cool morning hours are often the most productive time for locating game as animals move between feeding and bedding areas. Following the morning hunt, transfer back to Addis Ababa by domestic flight or private vehicle according to your travel schedule. Upon arrival, connect with your international departure flight or continue with additional sightseeing in Ethiopia.

Essential Planning Requirements
Planning a premium Ethiopian hunting safari requires careful preparation. Since hunting permits are governed by strict federal quotas, we recommend beginning the planning process at least six months in advance.
1. Mandatory Requirements for Guests
To prepare an accurate and fully compliant safari proposal, we require the following information:
Target Species
Please specify your desired trophy species. Hunting licenses are purchased in advance, are non-refundable, and are subject to annual quotas established by the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA).
Preferred Travel Dates
The recommended hunting season in Ethiopia extends from October through June.
Physical Fitness
High altitude hunts particularly for the Mountain Nyala require a good level of physical fitness. Please confirm your readiness for mountain trekking and challenging terrain.
Firearm Arrangements
Please indicate whether you will:
- Bring your own firearms (maximum of three), or
- Require locally available rental firearms.
We will assist with all Temporary Firearm Import Permit applications and related procedures.
Conservation Commitment
We operate strictly within the law. Hunting is never permitted inside National Parks.
