Day 01: Arrival – Sightseeing Addis Ababa (The New Flower)
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After refreshing, begin your sightseeing tour of Addis Ababa with a drive up to Mount Entoto for a panoramic view of the city.
Day 02: Addis Ababa to Arba Minch
After breakfast, depart on a scenic drive to the lakeside town of Arba Minch. En route, stop at the Gurage villages, where locals prepare their staple food, Kocho, made from the false banana plant.
Day 03: Visit Chencha Village and Boat Trip on Lake Chamo
After breakfast, drive to Dorze village to visit the Dorze tribe, a minority ethnic group famous for their cotton weaving, carpentry, and unique beehive-shaped huts made from bamboo and enset.
Day 04: Drive Arba Minch – Konso – Turmi
After breakfast, take another boat cruise on Lake Chamo, Ethiopia’s third-largest lake, to observe crocodiles, hippos, and aquatic bird species. The lake’s northern shores are particularly famous for large crocodiles basking in the sun.
Day 05: Drive Turmi – Kangaten (Nyangatom Tribe) – Karo Tribe – Turmi
This morning, drive through savannah landscapes dotted with acacia trees to Kangaten to visit the Nyangatom tribe. The Nyangatom women adorn themselves with numerous necklaces and goatskin skirts richly decorated with beads, while men display chest scars symbolizing bravery in battle.
Day 06: Drive Turmi – Omorate – Jinka
After breakfast, drive to Omorate and cross the Omo River to visit the Dassanech tribe, who live just 72 km from Turmi. Traditionally pastoralists, they now practice semi-nomadic farming.
Day 07: Visit Ari Village and Fly to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, visit the Ari tribe, the largest ethnic group in the Lower Omo Valley. Their territory extends from the northern edge of Mago National Park to the highlands around Jinka and Key Afer.
