Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – City Tour

Arrive in Addis Ababa, where you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, begin your Ethiopian experience with a visit to the National Museum, home to the famous fossil remains of Lucy. Continue to Holy Trinity Cathedral and Entoto Hills, offering panoramic views over the capital. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner accompanied by cultural music and dancing.

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar – Lake Tana

Take a morning flight to Bahir Dar, a beautiful city situated on the shores of Lake Tana. After arrival, take a boat excursion on Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake, and visit one of its historic monasteries. Admire centuries-old religious paintings and learn about the traditions of Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity. Spend the evening relaxing along the lakeside and enjoying the sunset.

Day 3: Bahir Dar – Blue Nile Falls – Gondar

After breakfast, drive to the spectacular Blue Nile Falls. Enjoy a scenic walk through the surrounding countryside and admire one of Ethiopia’s most famous natural attractions. Continue to Gondar, the former imperial capital. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing historic castles and palaces built by Ethiopian emperors.

Day 4: Gondar – Simien Mountains National Park

After breakfast, travel to the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic cliffs, deep valleys and rugged highland scenery. Enjoy a nature walk and visit spectacular viewpoints. Keep an eye out for endemic wildlife, particularly Gelada baboons and Walia ibex. If conditions permit, you may also have the chance to spot the elusive Ethiopian wolf.

Day 5: Simien Mountains – Lalibela

After breakfast, leave the Simien highlands and travel toward Lalibela, one of Ethiopia’s most important historical destinations. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and begin exploring the town. Depending on your arrival time, visit some of the surrounding cultural attractions or enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 6: Lalibela – Northern Rock-Hewn Churches

Spend the day discovering the extraordinary Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Northern Group, including Biete Medhane Alem, Biete Maryam, Biete Meskel, and Biete Denagel. Learn about the fascinating history, architecture, legends, and religious traditions associated with these remarkable churches, carved directly from the living rock.

Overnight: Lalibela

Day 7: Lalibela – Southern Churches & Biete Giyorgis

Continue your exploration of Lalibela’s magnificent churches, including Biete Amanuel, Biete Gabriel-Rafael, Biete Abba Libanos, and the spectacular Biete Giyorgis (Church of St. George). Take time to appreciate the intricate architecture and spiritual atmosphere before enjoying a traditional Ethiopian lunch. The afternoon is free for shopping, photography, or relaxing at your hotel.

Overnight: Lalibela

Day 8: Lalibela – Addis Ababa – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Lalibela Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your international departure time, enjoy some free time in Addis Ababa for shopping or a final Ethiopian coffee experience. Transfer to Bole International Airport for your onward flight.
