Day 01: Arrival in Addis Ababa

Welcome to Addis Ababa, the vibrant capital of Ethiopia. Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. If time permits, enjoy a city tour including the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous fossil “Lucy,” the Ethnological Museum, and Mount Entoto, which offers panoramic views of the city. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 02: Fly to Bahir Dar – Lake Tana & Blue Nile Falls

After breakfast, fly to Bahir Dar, one of Ethiopia’s most picturesque lakeside cities. Take a boat cruise on Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake, visiting the centuries-old island monasteries renowned for their ancient religious manuscripts and beautiful murals. In the afternoon, drive to the spectacular Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat), one of Ethiopia’s most famous natural attractions. Overnight in Bahir Dar.

Day 03: Drive to Gondar

After breakfast, drive to the historic city of Gondar, the former capital of the Ethiopian Empire. Visit the magnificent Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring medieval castles and palaces. Continue to the beautiful Debre Berhan Selassie Church, renowned for its magnificent ceiling decorated with angelic faces, and explore the historic Fasilides Bath. Overnight in Gondar.

Day 04: Fly to Lalibela

After breakfast, transfer to Gondar Airport for your flight to Lalibela, home to Ethiopia’s extraordinary rock-hewn churches. Spend the afternoon exploring the first group of these UNESCO-listed churches, carved directly from solid volcanic rock during the 12th and 13th centuries. Visit landmarks such as Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Maryam, and Bete Golgotha. Overnight in Lalibela.

Day 05: Lalibela – Fly to Addis Ababa – Fly to Arba Minch

After breakfast, visit the second group of the remarkable Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches, including the iconic Bete Giyorgis (St. George Church). Later, fly back to Addis Ababa and connect with your domestic flight to Arba Minch, the gateway to southern Ethiopia. Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 06: Arba Minch – Dorze Village – Turmi

After breakfast, visit the traditional Dorze Village, famous for its unique bamboo houses, colorful weaving traditions, and Enset (false banana) cultivation. Continue your scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley to Turmi, home of the Hamer Tribe, one of the most culturally fascinating communities in the Omo Valley. If your visit coincides with local events, you may witness the famous Bull Jumping Ceremony, a traditional rite of passage. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 07: Karo & Dassanech Tribes

After breakfast, drive to Korcho Village to meet the Karo Tribe, renowned for their spectacular body painting and scenic settlements overlooking the Omo River. Continue to Omorate, where you will cross the river by traditional wooden canoe to visit the Dassanech Tribe, known for their unique culture and riverside lifestyle. Return to Turmi in the afternoon. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 08: Mursi Tribe – Fly to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive to Mago National Park to visit the iconic Mursi Tribe, internationally recognized for the decorative lip plates worn by women and their distinctive cultural traditions. After the visit, continue to Jinka Airport for your afternoon flight to Addis Ababa. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 09: Addis Ababa City Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day exploration of Addis Ababa. Visit the bustling Mercato, Africa’s largest open-air market, the impressive Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the Red Terror Martyrs’ Memorial Museum. Spend the afternoon shopping for traditional Ethiopian handicrafts, coffee, and souvenirs before enjoying a farewell dinner featuring traditional Ethiopian cuisine and cultural music and dance performances. Day 10: Departure
