Upon arrival, drive north to the historic village of Negash, home to the revered Al Nejashi Mosque, one of Africa’s oldest and most significant Islamic landmarks. Following breakfast, board your domestic flight from Mekelle to Dire Dawa, travelling via Addis Ababa if required by the flight schedule. Upon arrival in Dire Dawa, enjoy a scenic drive of approximately one and a half hours through the surrounding mountains before reaching the ancient fortified city of Harar, one of Africa’s oldest and most important Islamic centers. After checking into your hotel, begin your exploration of Harar Jugol, the centuries-old walled city recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
