Part 1: 3-Day Private Omo Valley Cultural Tour

Day 1: Arba Minch – Konso – Jinka

• Morning departure from Arba Minch, heading south into the Omo Valley.

• Visit the Konso people (UNESCO-listed cultural landscape):

  • Terraced agriculture

  • Traditional wooden grave markers (waga)

  • Cultural hall and clan totems

• Continue to Jinka, passing local villages and scenic hills.

• Optional visit to the South Omo Museum.

• Overnight in Jinka (lodge or eco-lodge).

  In Ethiopia, you will experience the warmth and hospitality of the local communities.

Day 2: Jinka – Mursi Tribe – Turmi (via Mago National Park)

The journey through Ethiopia is not just about the sights; it’s about connecting with its vibrant cultures.

• Morning drive through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, known for their lip plates and scarification traditions.

• Learn about Mursi customs with your local interpreter.

• Continue to Turmi, home of the Hamar tribe.

  The Hamar tribe welcomes you to experience their captivating traditions and lifestyle in Ethiopia.

• Optional: Witness a Bull Jumping Ceremony, if available – a coming-of-age ritual.

• Overnight in Turmi (lodge or camp).

Day 3: Turmi – Dassanech Village – Arba Minch

Make unforgettable memories as you explore the wonders of Ethiopia on this adventure.

• Early morning drive to Omorate, near the Omo River.

• Cross by traditional canoe to visit the Dassanech tribe, semi-nomadic agro-pastoralists.

  Engage with the unique practices of the Dassanech tribe during your travels in Ethiopia.

• Return north via Arbore village (if time allows) for a short cultural visit.

• Arrive in Arba Minch in the late afternoon. Tour ends.

Part 2: 3-Day Small Group Danakil Depression Tour

Join a group adventure to one of the world’s most extreme and alien landscapes.

Witness the astonishing geology and landscapes of Ethiopia that are unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Day 1: Mekele – Afar Region – Hamed Ela Camp

• Morning departure from Mekele in 4×4 convoy.

• Travel across the Afar lowlands, stopping at viewpoints and villages.

• Arrive at Hamed Ela, a desert base camp.

• Sunset over the salt flats of Lake Asale.

• Overnight in basic desert camp (mattress under the stars).

Day 2: Hamed Ela – Dallol – Salt Caravans – Lake Asale

• Early morning visit to Dallol – a surreal landscape of sulfur springs, salt chimneys, and colorful acid pools.

  Ethiopia’s geological wonders are sure to leave you in awe as you explore its remarkable features.

• Explore the abandoned mining settlement and vibrant geothermal fields.

• Observe Afar salt miners and camel caravans at Lake Asale.

• Return to camp for lunch and rest.

• Overnight again in Hamed Ela camp.

Day 3: Hamed Ela – Erta Ale Volcano – Mekele

• Optional early start (if Erta Ale is included in group program) OR

• Return drive to Mekele, stopping at viewpoints and photo stops.

• End of tour in Mekele by late afternoon/early evening.
  (Note: Erta Ale may be included as part of a separate or extended tour. Confirm with operator.)
