After breakfast, meet your professional guide and begin your journey to one of Ethiopia’s renowned coffee-growing regions near Addis Ababa, where you will discover why Ethiopia is celebrated as the birthplace of Arabica coffee. The scenic drive takes you through beautiful highland landscapes, fertile farmland, and traditional villages before arriving at a local Coffee Plantation.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walk through the plantation to learn about the history of Ethiopian coffee, its cultural significance and the ideal growing conditions that have made Ethiopian Arabica coffee famous around the world. Depending on the season, you may observe or participate in the harvesting of ripe coffee cherries while learning how farmers carefully select only the finest beans.

Continue to the Coffee Processing Station, where experienced local producers demonstrate each stage of transforming fresh coffee cherries into premium green coffee beans. Witness the traditional methods of pulping, fermenting, washing, drying, sorting and grading, while gaining insight into the importance of quality control and sustainable farming practices.

Next, visit a local Coffee Roasting Experience, where freshly processed beans are roasted over a traditional charcoal stove. Enjoy the rich aroma as your guide explains how different roasting levels influence the flavor, aroma, and body of Ethiopian coffee.

The highlight of the day is participating in an authentic Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, one of the country’s most treasured cultural traditions. Watch as fresh beans are roasted, ground by hand, and brewed in a traditional clay jebena. Relax while enjoying three ceremonial rounds of coffee Abol, Tona and Baraka served with freshly prepared popcorn or traditional snacks, offering a genuine taste of Ethiopian hospitality.

Following the ceremony, savor a delicious Traditional Ethiopian Lunch, featuring local specialties prepared with fresh regional ingredients.
