Day 1 – Arrival in Addis Ababa

• Arrive at Bole International Airport and meet your guide. Transfer to your hotel.

• Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short city tour:

  • National Museum (home of “Lucy”)

  • Holy Trinity Cathedral

  • Entoto Hills for panoramic views

• Welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant with live music (optional).

• Overnight: Addis Ababa

Day 2 – Fly to Arba Minch & Visit Dorze Village

• Morning flight to Arba Minch, gateway to the south.

• Afternoon excursion to the Dorze people in the Guge Mountains:

  • Visit their tall beehive-shaped homes

  • See traditional weaving techniques

• Enjoy mountain views and sunset over Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya.

• Overnight: Arba Minch

Day 3 – Drive to Jinka via Konso & Key Afer Market

• En route to Jinka, stop at:

  • Konso Cultural Landscape (UNESCO site), known for its terraced hills and Waga funeral statues

  • Key Afer Market (Thursday only), where Benna, Ari, and Tsemay tribes gather

• Continue to Jinka, nestled in the Omo Valley highlands.

• Overnight: Jinka

Day 4 – Excursion to Mursi Tribe & Ari Village

• Morning drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi Tribe:

  • Famous for lip plates (among women) and body scarification

  • Learn about their customs with a local translator

• Afternoon visit to an Ari village near Jinka:

  • Discover pottery, distillation, and traditional house-building

• Overnight: Jinka

Day 5 – Drive to Turmi via Dimeka Market (Saturday)

• Drive to Turmi, home of the Hamar Tribe.

• Stop at Dimeka Market (Saturday), a lively tribal trading center.

• Evening cultural interaction with the Hamar:

  • Visit a local village

  • If available, witness a bull-jumping ceremony, a coming-of-age ritual

• Overnight: Turmi

Day 6 – Day Trip to Karo Tribe & Nyangatom Viewpoints

• Drive to the Karo Tribe village in Korcho:

  • Known for elaborate body painting, scarification, and riverbank views

• Optional detour to see the Nyangatom people across the Omo River (boat crossing if possible).

• Return to Turmi for dinner and rest.

• Overnight: Turmi

Day 7 – Visit Dassanech Tribe & Drive to Arbore

• Morning excursion to Omorate (near Kenya border) to meet the Dassanech tribe:

  • Cross the Omo River by traditional canoe

  • Experience the semi-nomadic lifestyle of this agro-pastoralist group

• Afternoon drive to Arbore, a less-visited but culturally rich tribe.

• Overnight: Arbore village or Turmi (depending on logistics)

Day 8 – Return to Arba Minch via Konso

• Drive back north through the scenic Weyto Valley.

• Stop again in Konso for deeper exploration or craft shopping.

• Optional boat ride on Lake Chamo to see hippos and Nile crocodiles.

• Overnight: Arba Minch

Day 9 – Fly to Addis Ababa & Departure

• Morning flight from Arba Minch to Addis Ababa.

• Enjoy free time or visit the Ethnological Museum or Mercato for last-minute souvenirs.

• Farewell traditional lunch or dinner, depending on your departure time.

• Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
