Explore Djibouti City’s historic sites, markets, mosques and Ottoman era architecture, then journey to the surreal landscapes of Lake Abbeh and Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa. Finish with a boat trip to Mascali or Musha Island for snorkeling and beach time with the chance (November–January) to swim with whale sharks in the Red Sea perfect for adventure and nature lovers seeking an unforgettable Horn of Africa experience.

Day 1: Djibouti City

Arrival in Djibouti and meet your guide at the airport. Transfer to your hotel for accommodation and rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided city tour including Menelik Palace, Le Marché Central, Grande Pêcherie, Hamoudi Mosque, L’Escale Djibouti, Ottoman style old houses, Stade du Ville and other key sites.

Day 2: Djibouti City – Lake Abbeh

After breakfast, drive to Lake Abbeh (also known as Lake Abhe Bad), an endorheic salt lake in East Africa located on the border between Djibouti and Ethiopia, at the western end of the Awash Valley and the Gobaad Basin.

Day 3: Lake Abbeh – Lake Assal – Djibouti City

Wake up early to visit Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa, famous for its dramatic salt formations and unique landscapes. Return to Djibouti City afterward.

Day 4: Djibouti City – Mascali or Musha Island – Whale Sharks

After breakfast, transfer by speedboat to discover Mascali or Musha Island for snorkeling and various sea activities. From November to January, there is an opportunity to encounter whale sharks as they gather to feed on plankton around Ras Eiro and Arta Beach, offering a rare chance to swim and snorkel with these gentle giants.

Day 5: Departure

Transfer to the airport and end of the tour.
