Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – Ethiopian Welcome

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Arbaminch – Lake Chamo
Take a morning flight from Addis Ababa to Arbaminch and begin your journey into southern Ethiopia. After lunch, enjoy a boat excursion on Lake Chamo, where you may encounter large Nile crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of water birds. Continue to the Dorze Highlands, renowned for their distinctive bamboo houses, traditional weaving, cotton products, and agricultural lifestyle. Experience the hospitality and traditions of the Dorze people before returning to Arbaminch.

Day 3: Arbaminch – Konso – Jinka
After breakfast, drive toward Konso, a UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape famous for its stone terraces, traditional villages, carved wooden statues, and sustainable agricultural practices. Day 4: Jinka – Mago National Park – Mursi Village
Today is dedicated to one of the most fascinating cultural experiences in the Omo Valley. Travel to Mago National Park and visit a Mursi village, where you can learn about traditional lifestyles, cattle herding, body decoration, crafts, and community traditions. The surrounding park also offers opportunities to observe wildlife and enjoy the remote landscapes of southern Ethiopia. Return to Jinka in the afternoon.

Day 5: Jinka – Turmi – Hamer Cultural Experience
Travel deeper into the Omo Valley toward Turmi, home of the Hamer people. Along the way, visit local communities and markets when available. In Turmi, experience Hamer culture, traditional hairstyles, colorful clothing, jewelry, dancing, and ceremonies when they coincide with your visit. The exact cultural activities depend on the local community calendar.

Day 6: Turmi – Dassanech – Arbaminch
Drive toward Omorate near the Omo River and cross by local boat to visit a Dassanech community.
