PREAMBLE WHEREAS, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) is committed to providing professional tourism services within the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; WHEREAS, it is necessary to define the rights and obligations of both the Company and the Guests to ensure safety, professionalism, and legal clarity; NOW, THEREFORE, this Policy is established as follows:

ARTICLE 1: DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them herein:

  1. “Company” refers to Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel, its management, and authorized representatives.
  2. “Staff” refers to all employees, contractors, tour guides, driver-guides, and local representatives assigned by the Company.
  3. “Guest” refers to any individual or group who has entered into a booking agreement for travel services with the Company.
  4. “Tour Hours” refers to the active period of scheduled itinerary activities, including transportation and guided excursions.

ARTICLE 2: OBLIGATIONS OF THE COMPANY

2.1. Upon confirmation of booking and receipt of full payment, the Company shall be obligated to deliver all services specified in the itinerary in a professional manner.

2.2. The Company shall ensure that all Staff assigned to a tour possess the necessary qualifications and professional licenses required by Ethiopian law.

2.3. The Company shall maintain a system of daily monitoring to evaluate service quality and Guest satisfaction throughout the duration of the tour.

2.4. The Company reserves the unilateral right to replace any Staff member or initiate immediate disciplinary proceedings if service standards are breached.

ARTICLE 3: STAFF CONDUCT AND PROHIBITIONS

3.1. All Staff shall maintain the highest standards of professional decorum and ethical behavior during the performance of their duties.

3.2. Prohibited Acts: Staff are strictly prohibited from the following while on duty:

  • a) Consumption of alcohol or tobacco products;
  • b) Engagement in the use of any illicit or addictive substances;
  • c) Involvement in any activity that compromises the safety or reputation of the Company. 3.3. Any breach of Article 3.2 shall constitute grounds for immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment without notice.

ARTICLE 4: RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GUEST

4.1. Guests are entitled to receive all services as contracted, delivered with respect and professional competence.

4.2. Guests may engage in personal activities (such as smoking or alcohol consumption); however, they shall not involve or invite Staff to participate in such activities during Tour Hours.

4.3. Guests shall respect the professional boundaries of the Staff and refrain from involving them in private or non-tour-related matters.

4.4. Assumption of Risk: Any activities pursued by the Guest outside the official itinerary (e.g., nightlife, private meetings, or unescorted excursions) are undertaken at the Guest’s sole risk and expense.

ARTICLE 5: PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

5.1. Any romantic, intimate, or personal relationship formed between a Guest and a Staff member—whether during or after the tour—is strictly a private matter between the individuals.

5.2. Indemnification: The Company, its owners, and directors shall be held harmless and shall not be liable for any disputes, legal claims, emotional distress, or physical consequences arising from such personal relationships.

5.3. Interactions confirmed to be voluntary and consensual between adults shall remain outside the scope of the Company’s legal responsibility.

5.4. The Company does not authorize, permit, or encourage any personal engagements between Staff and Guests within the professional setting.

ARTICLE 6: MISCONDUCT AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE

6.1. The Company maintains a Zero-Tolerance Policy toward sexual harassment, physical assault, or any form of abuse committed by Staff.

6.2. Upon a report of misconduct, the Company shall take immediate action to protect the Guest and shall cooperate fully with the relevant law enforcement authorities in Ethiopia.

ARTICLE 7: ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND FINAL PROVISION

7.1. By completing a booking or participating in a tour, the Guest acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the articles of this Policy.

7.2. This Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
